Hello Folks,
Well ... where to start.
In the late AM I drove out of Hobbs towards Eunice on Highway 18 ... it's about a 20 minute drive. The landscape is nothing but pump jacks ... the road nothing but 150/250/350 style trucks and 18 wheelers.
I drove into town and stopped at the first diner/greasy spoon I saw ... I had the previous days newspaper with me. I ordered lunch and asked the waitress about the article and the location of the sinkhole/gorge. She didn't know the exact location but her husband is a local police man .... 'don't tell anybody I told you, but it's just off the main highway at ....' - I told her I was going nowhere near the place .... just curious ...
I left the diner and of course drove out to that spot and started driving up and down side roads until I saw what looked like yellow police tape ... just off to the west ...
I parked the truck down the road about a kilometer, grabbed my rope and camera pack and walked back the road until I was adjacent to the yellow taped area ... about 500 yards away from me ... I was shooting pictures as I walked ... I then climbed the fence and slowly walked to the taped off area.
There was literally a concave opening in the ground ... about 12 - 15 feet in diameter and about 20 feet deep ... just a big hole. I clambered down the sidewall rock and there at the bottom off to one side is a ladder ...
an old looking, flimsy, well used ladder, but a way to get further down none the less. I test the ladder ... bounce up and down on it a bit ... it holds, but let me tell you it was rickety ...I slowly descended as far the ladder goes ... and there is no bottom ... I switched on my head lamp that I always carry, and saw that the bottom of floor was about 4 feet below the last run of the ladder ... I descended the remainder of the ladder arm under arm and as soon as I felt the floor I let go .... at this point I was about 30 feet below ground level.
I looked around to get my bearings ... I was in a natural rock hallway that was about 10 feet wide and there was an exit on one side that was about 8 feet high and six feet wide. I had fluorescent tape that I always carry ... I tied a piece around a rock outcrop, next to the exit and entered ... as soon I had walked about ten feet I could feel the floor start to slope down ... the slope probably reached a 10 degree decline within a 100 feet ... I followed the natural decline of the rock hallway ... tying tape all the way ...
The decline leveled out a bit after about 10 minutes or so and then got very steep ... I sat down and pulled out my 200 length of rope ... tied that off to a rock outcrop and gently kind of slid/crept down maybe 150 feet ... I am guessing that I was about 600 - 700 feet below ground level.
As the decline leveled out I could detect that there was a source of light up ahead ...
The natural hallway opened up into much larger space ... I estimate possibly 50 feet tall and 50 ft wide ... my progress was now flanked by what look like silent rock sentinels ... I assumed they were various formations of stalagmites and stalactites ... yet it gave the expanse the feel of a temple entrance ...
If you have seen the classic Disney version of Journey to the Centre of the Earth or Alien or Dark Crystal ... you'll have a sense for what I was experiencing during those moments ...
The path took a sharp turn to the right and I could see that it opened up into what would be a large amphitheater ... I crept along the wall ... and poked my head around ... what I saw was astounding ... I was looking at a large open area that might have been a mile or two in diameter and possibly 250 - 300 feet tall ... there were stalactites and stalagmites liberally sprinkled through out the expanse and there was some sort of bluish green lighting that was being projected on what I will call the ceiling of the expanse and being reflected back down on the floor ...
Again the feeling of being in a temple was reinforced ... it had an air of solemnity .. an almost ominous air of such .. so much so that I was afraid to make any sound whatsoever ... also knowing any sound would be amplified and would reverberate throughout the expanse for ages ...
On the floor large trucks ...were quietly transport something ... I could see no excavation equipment ... just these large ... very quietly 'humming' trucks ... moving something ... somewhere ... trucks that left no mark on the floor and made no sound ... I had the distinct feeling they were neither destroying what was there, nor enhancing ... but were preparing for something ... or someone ... if you look closely in the following photo you will see the truck ... it is extremely small in the scale of things ...
It was quite clear I couldn't proceed any further ... I tried to take a few pictures, but there was next to no light ... but it was better than nothing ... and having done that decided to backtrack and get back to the truck .... which I did ... with a few bumps and scrapes .. I had removed the tape and retrieved the rope as I went ... and within two hours I had everything back in the truck and was on my way back to Hobbs ...
What had I seen and what did it mean ... how are the wind turbines and the pump jacks related to what I had seen ... what was/is going on below ground ... what were/are the trucks moving ... and were/are they bringing it in ... or taking it out ...
I don't know ... yet ... I find myself suddenly hoping that I will get another e-mail or text message from 'Phil S' ... I really don't know what this all means ...
Later today ... I'll have a chance at getting what I think I may need for Roswell ... the question now is ... how does this relate to Roswell ... shouldn't I be staying here to sort this out ...
I really and truly don't have a clue at this point ... I'll just have to wait for the next contact ... but possibly ... just possibly ... the answer is right in front of me and I just need to calm down and go over all this stuff again ... yes ... I think that might be the answer ...
To quote from verse 1953 of the Krome Koan ...
