History ... not Mystery ....

Hello Folks,

I ventured out yesterday ... under the cover of light snow and in a temperature of -12C ... local folks have never seen the likes of this ... well this generation anyway ... little did they know yours truly was responsible.

It is quite clear that Roswell loves it reputation as 'alien central' .. several businesses in town use it to best advantage ... Alien Storage, Alien Zone ... selling T-shirts and other alien paraphernalia ... and of course there is the UFO Museum Research Center which takes itself very seriously.

Aside from the UFO crash in July 1947, Roswell has a very unique military history ... which starts with Robert Goddard, who came to the Roswell area on the recommendation of Charles Lindbergh ... here Goddard could carry out his very loud rocket experiments without annoying or alarming the neighbors and locals ...

In 1941 a training air base was established here ... the Roswell Army Air Field ... RAAF ... in 1944 crews were trained on the B-29 4 engine super-fortress ...

Also at this time 4800 POWs from the North African campaign ... German and Italian POWs ... were guests of the US military ...  and were used as construction workers on a number of local projects ... many of them parks ...

After unsuccessfully trying to interest the US government in his rocket experiments his plans were 'borrowed' by German spies and and pretty soon V-2 were raining down on London .. all of a sudden the US military was interested ... when the the war ended the US military 'borrowed' the plans back ...

On the 16 July 1945, the resident's of Roswell saw a flash of light at 5:29 AM to the SW ... a military weapons depot had blown up ... right ... it was the world's first detonation of an atomic device ... within weeks 2 B-29 super fortress' would drop 2 of these devices on Japan ending the war in the Pacific ... in November 1945, the complete 509th Bomb Unit ... the world's first atomic bomb group ... were transferred to the RAAF ... including the Enola Gay ... and were taken over by SAC in March 1946 ... and became responsible for a series of famous A-bomb tests in the South Pacific ...

We then have the UFO sighting in July 1947 ... and then ....

As new and more modern bombers were commissioned a missile defense system was established to protect the air base in 1959 ... as growing cold war tensions escalated Atlas Missile silos were established around Roswell in 1960 ...between 1963 and 1964 there were three conventional explosions associated with the Atlas silos ... explosions that occurred before the nuclear warhead was attached to the missile ... the Atlas system was decommissioned and the base was closed in 1966 ... ostensibly to pay for a military initiative that was draining the military coffers ... the Viet Nam war ...

The base today is a storage area for out of service aircraft that are being refurbished for re-sale ...

The reason I have taken the time to lay all this history down is that I intend to come back to it in bits and pieces in future blogs ... for you see ... everything is hiding in plain sight .. some things right here and now ... some things right here and now 'in the multiverse' ... and some things 'right here and then' ...

The 'watchers' storm' has given me a period of grace ... I will put it to good use .. there are 5 museums in town ... I'll start there tomorrow ...

It is fascinating that every individual that was directly involved in the Roswell incident no longer resides here ...  as well as all the military and civil structures that were directly and/or indirectly involved are no longer standing ... all this in a land where nothing else has changed in 75 years ...

No new texts/e-mails from 'Phil S' ... I suspect that is one thing that will change ... and very soon ...

To quote from verse 4800 of the Krome Koan,

' ... the universe seems neither benign nor hostile, merely indifferent ... '
The Ale i.a.n. Hunter
